Our story

Werkstatt Morgenrot repairs and restores lamps, and sells a small selection of refurbished lighting online. Owner Hannah Vogel took the No Bill at the Door pledge after customers ordering parts from abroad said they could not tell whether import duties would be due until delivery. The workshop now checks destination rules before taking payment and displays the known duty and tax estimate alongside the order total. When an exact amount cannot be confirmed, the page explains that limitation before checkout and provides a clear estimate rather than implying that delivery is fully settled. Staff also added a pre-dispatch checklist for cross-border orders. In the first four months, the number of international orders declined by only 2 percent, while delivery-related complaints fell from 11 to 3. Hannah says the change required more careful product and destination data, but it prevents customers from being surprised at the door. The workshop reviews its guidance regularly and avoids promising a fixed charge where carrier or customs calculations may vary.
