To Mikro Perivoli is a family-run grocer in Thessaloniki. Its owners took the Paid in 15 pledge after several small producers told them that long waits for payment made it difficult to buy seed, packaging, and fuel for the next delivery. The shop had assumed that paying at the end of a monthly accounting cycle was simplest, but learned that its schedule transferred the cash-flow strain to suppliers. Since signing, the grocer records delivery approval on the same day and runs supplier payments twice each week. In its first three months, 18 of 21 participating suppliers were paid within 15 days, compared with a previous average of 32 days. The change also made ordering more predictable: the shop now agrees on delivery quantities before market day rather than asking producers to absorb last-minute changes. Owner Eleni Papadopoulou says the pledge made fairness part of the shop’s ordinary bookkeeping.
