To Ergastiri tis Avlis is a Thessaloniki ceramics workshop producing small-batch cups, serving dishes, and custom tiles. Owner Eleni Papadopoulou took the Paid in 15 pledge because the local clay supplier and kiln technician were independent businesses whose work kept the studio running. Previously, invoices could wait for a monthly paperwork review, creating uncertainty for partners who needed to schedule deliveries and maintenance. The studio now checks invoices twice each week, confirms receipt promptly, and pays approved bills within 15 days. It has also assigned one person to answer supplier questions about payment status. In the first 90 days, 14 of 15 eligible invoices were paid within the target period, with the remaining invoice resolved on day 17 after a quantity discrepancy was corrected. The clay supplier has since reserved a regular monthly allotment for the workshop, reducing last-minute substitutions. Eleni says the pledge turned a general intention to be fair into a routine that can be checked and improved.
