Our story

Taller Luz de Caoba is a small furniture workshop in Santiago de los Caballeros, making shelving and dining tables from locally sourced wood. Owner Rafael de la Cruz took the Paid in 15 pledge to give independent sawmills and hardware shops a more dependable payment date. Before the change, invoices were often handled when someone remembered to follow up, which could leave a supplier waiting while the workshop finished a custom job. Rafael introduced a weekly invoice review and set aside a portion of each customer deposit for supplier bills. In the first 90 days, 16 of 17 qualifying supplier invoices were paid within 15 days, and the one late payment was cleared on day 17 after a bank processing delay. The workshop now shares the expected payment date when placing an order. Rafael says suppliers have become more willing to reserve particular boards for upcoming projects, helping the workshop give customers more reliable delivery estimates.
