Sela Studio makes compact leather accessories and sells through a small online shop and weekend markets. The founders noticed that customers could not easily compare the cost of a product until shipping and payment fees appeared near the end of checkout. They took the No Surprise Fees pledge and rebuilt the price display so standard local delivery and mandatory charges were visible before payment. Optional express delivery remains a separate choice, clearly labelled with its cost. The studio also tested the checkout on mobile phones, where the old fee summary had been easy to miss. Over the following three months, questions about final totals fell from 27 to 10, and the share of customers completing checkout rose by six percentage points. The founders say the changes have made pricing conversations at markets consistent with the online experience. They now check the full payable amount whenever they change a product price, delivery rate, or promotion.
