Pan de Patio is a neighborhood bakery in Santiago de los Caballeros that supplies pastries and bread to walk-in customers and small events. It took No Surprise Fees after event organizers asked for clearer totals when ordering trays, delivery, and custom decoration. The bakery created a one-page order form that lists the number of pieces, decoration choices, delivery charge, and any deposit before the customer confirms. Staff now explain substitutions when an ingredient is unavailable and request approval before changing the price. The owners say this has been especially useful for families planning celebrations on a fixed budget. During its first three months with the pledge, the bakery handled 31 event orders using the form; only two needed a revised quote, and both customers approved the changes beforehand. Previously, the team received about five price questions or complaints per month after delivery. Pan de Patio says the pledge has helped it build trust while keeping its warm, informal service.
