Nila Loom & Co. works with a small network of weavers and finishers in and around Jaipur. The founders took the Paid in 15 pledge because artisans were sometimes waiting for payment after completed batches while the business waited for retail settlements. They began keeping a separate working-capital reserve, confirming delivery quantities on the day goods arrived, and scheduling approved payments every Friday. Over four months, their average payment time fell from 24 days to 11, and 31 artisan invoices were settled within 15 days. That predictability has allowed two weaving groups to plan yarn purchases without relying on short-term borrowing. The business also introduced a simple receipt record in Hindi and English so both sides can confirm quantities and payment dates. The founders say the pledge has made their buying process more disciplined and their partnerships more open. They review the payment log monthly and discuss any delays directly with suppliers rather than letting uncertainty linger.
