Mori no Kōbō is a small woodcraft workshop in Matsumoto, making shelves and kitchen tools from locally sourced timber. Owner Tanaka Yūto took the Paid in 15 pledge after a small sawmill explained that long waits for payment made it harder to reserve suitable timber for small customers. The workshop now confirms receipt of each delivery promptly, checks invoices twice a week, and sends suppliers a payment date as soon as an invoice is approved. If a document needs correction, the team contacts the supplier immediately instead of allowing the issue to disappear into a monthly queue. In the first four months, 32 of 34 eligible supplier invoices were paid within 15 days, and the average time to payment fell from 23 days to 12. The improved rhythm has helped the workshop place smaller, more frequent orders and reduce unused stock. Yūto signed because responsible craftsmanship includes how a business treats the people who provide its materials.
