Morgenlicht Herstel is an Utrecht bicycle repair studio that refurbishes used bikes and teaches basic maintenance. It took the Hold the Door pledge because its founders remembered how difficult it was to find patient advice when they were starting out. Each quarter, the studio now offers one first-time founder a practical support session, which may cover pricing, supplier questions, or a safe first test of a product idea. Its first participant was a newcomer planning a mobile repair service; together they reviewed a sample service menu and introduced the founder to two local parts suppliers. The studio gave four hours of staff time and followed up a month later, when the founder reported booking three paying customers. The owners say the pledge is deliberately modest: it does not promise investment or guarantee a business outcome. Instead, it makes time and useful introductions available to someone taking an early step. The team has added a quarterly reminder to its calendar so that support does not disappear during busy repair seasons.
