Modrá Nitka is a small textile studio offering clothing repairs, alterations, and made-to-order linen accessories. Its owner, Tereza Novotná, adopted No Surprise Fees after customers occasionally misunderstood whether fittings, notions, or urgent turnaround were included in a quoted price. The studio now provides a written estimate with the full total and marks optional services separately before work begins. If a repair reveals an additional issue, Tereza pauses and asks the customer to approve a revised amount rather than adding it to the final bill. In the first four months, questions about price differences at pickup fell from about 12 per month to 3. The number of customers accepting repair work also rose by 11 percent, because they could compare the options clearly. Tereza says transparent estimates help customers decide whether to mend an older garment or choose a simpler repair. She has added the same format to online inquiries and plans to review it with her part-time seamstress.
