Mesteacănul Vesel is a Sibiu maker of children’s stools, shelves, and small wooden toys. It joined No Bill at the Door because some customers had been surprised by import duties on accessories ordered from outside the country. The business now provides an estimated duty and tax breakdown before payment whenever those charges apply, and it states plainly when a fee cannot be confirmed in advance. Its product pages and order confirmation explain who collects each charge and where customers can ask for help. In a three-month pilot, 42 cross-border buyers saw the estimate before checkout, and the shop received no complaints about an unexpected duty at delivery. The owner says the most important change was not a promise that every estimate is exact, but a commitment to show what is known before asking someone to pay. The team also stopped using vague wording in its shipping notes. The pledge has made international orders easier to understand and has reduced uncomfortable conversations between customers and delivery services.
