Little Merlion Print House is a Singapore microbusiness producing menus, event cards, and short-run packaging for neighbourhood clients. Founder Tan Wei Ling adopted No Surprise Fees because customers often needed a firm budget before approving artwork and print quantities. The shop now separates design, proofing, delivery, and printing in its quotations, while stating which revisions are included. If a customer changes paper stock or quantity after approval, the team sends a revised total and waits for confirmation before proceeding. During its first five months, 62 quotations used the new format; 18 customers chose an optional upgrade after seeing its price, and none reported an unapproved add-on. The process also helped staff explain why a smaller print run can have a higher unit cost. Wei Ling says transparent pricing has made conversations more relaxed and reduced time spent correcting invoice misunderstandings, while protecting the shop from quietly absorbing work that was never included in the original quote.
