Kwibuka Botanicals makes small batches of soap and body oils using locally sourced ingredients where available. Founder Diane Uwamahoro signed the No Bill at the Door pledge after a shipment of packaging arrived with import charges that had not been clear when she placed the order. She now checks landed costs before confirming purchases and requires suppliers or delivery partners to show duties and other charges before payment whenever those amounts apply. For her own wholesale customers, she also separates product, delivery, and any applicable fees on the quote, so there are no surprise amounts at handoff. In six months, the business recorded zero disputed delivery bills across 21 incoming shipments, compared with 4 disputes in the previous period. Diane says early disclosure helped her choose a smaller packaging order when the full cost exceeded her budget, rather than being forced to pay at the door. She has made the cost check part of her purchasing checklist and shares it with two fellow makers.
