Kilim Zanaat Evi is a small rug repair and weaving studio in Gaziantep, working with household customers and a few interior shops. Owner Emine Şahin took the No Bill at the Door pledge after customers described receiving unexpected import-duty charges when special materials arrived from abroad. The studio now provides an estimate that separates the product, shipping, and any known duties before asking for payment. If a customs amount cannot be confirmed in advance, staff explain that clearly and obtain the customer’s approval before ordering, rather than presenting a surprise bill at delivery. In its first quarter under the pledge, the studio used the revised estimate for 14 special-material orders; 13 customers confirmed before purchase, and none refused delivery over an unexpected charge. Şahin says the change has made conversations slower at the start but smoother at the finish. The business keeps copies of supplier estimates and updates customers if costs change, allowing them to decide whether to proceed before the order moves forward.
