Khlong Dao Living took the First Order Terms pledge to make it less daunting for small producers to begin supplying its Bangkok shop. The retailer sells cushions, woven baskets, and table linens, and many promising makers had limited working capital for a first wholesale order. The team now offers net-30 terms on the first order, with a written schedule explaining when payment is due and what information an invoice needs. It introduced the terms with three new suppliers and set reminders for the accounts team before each due date. All three first orders were paid within the agreed 30 days, and one maker used the cash to purchase materials for a second batch. The retailer also simplified its onboarding form from six pages to three. Founder Siriporn Chaiyasit says the pledge encouraged the business to share some of the risk of starting a relationship. Khlong Dao Living plans to keep the terms available to qualified first-time suppliers and review feedback after each onboarding.
