Kano Aiki Foods is a small processor of dried spice blends, supplying neighborhood grocers and food stalls. Managing Director Amina Yusuf took the Paid in 15 pledge after several small packaging and transport suppliers described how delayed payments disrupted their weekly cash plans. The business has introduced a simple invoice log, assigned one staff member to resolve missing paperwork, and set two payment runs each week so approved invoices do not sit until month-end. Suppliers are told when an invoice is received and when payment is expected. The change has improved planning for the company too: it can confirm packaging orders earlier and avoid last-minute substitutions. Over the first four months, 26 of 29 eligible supplier invoices were paid within 15 days, and the average payment time fell from 24 days to 12. Amina says the pledge is not a promise to ignore proper checks; it is a commitment to make those checks promptly. She signed because small partners should not finance the business’s growth.
