Harbourlight Repair Co. is a bicycle repair shop in Hobart, serving commuters, students, and weekend riders. It signed No Surprise Fees after customers said they wanted repairs but felt uneasy when the final bill included small workshop or disposal charges they had not seen on the estimate. The shop now provides a written estimate that separates parts, labour, and any likely additional charge, then asks permission before doing work outside the approved scope. Its booking page also explains the call-out fee before a customer confirms a mobile repair. During its first ten weeks under the pledge, the shop recorded 27 approved estimates and only two changes; both were discussed with customers before extra work began. Disputes about final totals fell from five in the previous quarter to one. Managing director Zoe Campbell says clear prices make a difficult repair decision less stressful. The team now keeps a copy of every estimate with the service record.
