Harbour Fern Pantry is a Cork producer of jams, chutneys, and gift hampers made with seasonal fruit. It joined the No Surprise Fees pledge after a customer noticed that a gift-box packing charge appeared only on the final checkout screen. The owner realized that the charge was reasonable but its timing made the price feel unclear. The pantry now shows the packing cost beside each hamper option and displays delivery charges before customers enter payment details. For wholesale enquiries, it sends a complete written quotation that includes packing, delivery, and any agreed handling before accepting the order. The team also checks that market-stall signs match the online prices. During the first two months, 38 of 40 online orders went through without a price-related query, and the number of abandoned baskets fell from 17 to 11 per month. The owner says the pledge prompted a useful redesign of how the pantry explains value, not a cut in product quality.
