Glyko Kouta is a dessert shop in Patras, selling spoon sweets, biscuits, and celebration boxes. It took the No Surprise Fees pledge after several customers ordering gifts for relatives outside the city asked why a delivery charge appeared only after they had chosen their box. The shop updated its order form so customers can see the delivery zone, packing cost, and complete total before submitting payment. Staff also confirm the total by message for telephone orders, especially when a custom box needs extra materials. In the first three months, 41 online orders used the revised form, and the shop received no complaints about an undisclosed fee; previously, it had logged six such questions in a similar period. Two customers selected collection instead of delivery after seeing the options, which helped the shop plan its routes. Owner Dimitris Kanelos says the pledge made transparency feel practical rather than promotional. The shop now checks prices whenever suppliers change packaging costs and updates its printed menus at the same time.
