Dulce Huarango makes small batches of regional sweets and ships gift boxes from Lima to customers around Peru. The owners joined the No Surprise Fees pledge after customers asked why the amount due at checkout was higher than the product price they had first seen. They reviewed packing, delivery, and payment costs, then updated each listing to show the full price for standard delivery before the customer entered payment details. For outlying destinations, the shop now shows the additional charge as soon as the delivery district is selected. In the first three months, messages about unexpected charges fell from 32 to 12, while 19 customers used the clearer regional delivery option. The change has helped staff explain differences between destinations without apologizing for information that appeared too late. The owners say keeping prices accurate requires regular review when carrier rates change, so they have added a monthly check to their bookkeeping routine. Their aim is a straightforward purchase, with no hidden mandatory fee.
