Atelier Brin de Lavande chose No Surprise Fees because customers ordering its soaps and balms wanted to know the full amount before committing. The Montpellier business had been showing products clearly, but packaging and delivery choices were not always explained until the last checkout screen. The team rewrote its product pages and added a concise total-cost summary before payment. It also separated optional gift wrapping from required shipping, so customers could see exactly what each choice added. During an eight-week trial, the studio received 40 percent fewer price-related support messages, falling from 25 to 15, while the share of orders completed after entering checkout rose by 7 percentage points. Staff now compare the displayed total with the final receipt each week and check the site after every pricing update. Founder Élodie Martin says the pledge encouraged them to be direct about costs, including when delivery is expensive. The studio hopes this simple consistency will build trust with new customers as it expands beyond local markets.
