Alaafia Loom and Leather took the Paid in 15 pledge to make its buying practices more dependable for the independent dyers and leatherworkers who supply its bags. The Ibadan workshop is small, and a delayed payment can matter to a supplier purchasing thread, dye, or transport for the next job. The team used to settle invoices on an irregular schedule because payment dates were not assigned to a single person. It now logs every delivery, confirms the invoice within two working days, and schedules payment within 15 days. Over the first three months, 14 of 15 small-supplier invoices were paid on time; the remaining invoice was corrected with the supplier and cleared on day 17. The workshop also began sharing expected order volumes earlier, helping suppliers plan materials. Founder Adeola Akinyemi says the pledge gave the team a practical routine, not just a statement. A weekly finance check keeps the promise on track.
