Our story

Rona Rasa is a Yogyakarta maker of small-batch sambal and spice blends, selling at local markets and through an online storefront. It joined No Surprise Fees when shoppers asked why the final amount sometimes differed from the product price shown in social media posts. The business now lists the full item price consistently and displays delivery costs before the buyer confirms an order. It also removed a small mandatory packing charge by including that cost in its pricing calculations. Across 120 orders during its first eight weeks with the new approach, only three customers contacted the team to clarify the total, down from 19 in a comparable earlier period. The change required updating price cards, templates, and staff responses, but the owners found the work worthwhile. They say customers should be able to decide with the complete information in front of them. The pledge has also encouraged Rona Rasa to review costs regularly instead of relying on checkout additions to cover routine expenses.
