Our story

<p>Kedai Rimbun Kecil is a homewares shop in George Town that sells locally designed lamps, baskets, and table linens. The owner signed No Bill at the Door after a shipment of display pieces arrived with import duties and handling charges that had not been clear when the order was placed. For a small business, the surprise made the landed cost difficult to plan and forced a postponement of another supplier payment. The shop now asks suppliers and couriers to provide an estimate of applicable duties and fees before it approves an international purchase, and it shows those costs to customers before payment when they apply to special orders. In its next six imported orders, all charges were disclosed in advance; the owner reports no last-minute customer cancellations. The pledge did not remove duties, but made them part of the decision rather than an unwelcome surprise. Kedai Rimbun Kecil added a simple cost-check step to its buying checklist.</p>
