Our story

<p>Ikawa y’Agaciro is a Kigali coffee roaster buying carefully selected beans from smallholder cooperatives and selling roasted coffee to offices and local cafés. The team joined Paid in 15 after noticing that its own quick sales growth had not been matched by equally quick payments to the people supplying the beans. It introduced a simple receiving log, assigned one staff member to resolve invoice questions, and set payment runs twice each week. The team also shares expected payment dates with cooperative contacts instead of asking them to follow up repeatedly. Over the first harvest season after signing, it paid 12 supplier invoices within 15 days, with an average turnaround of nine days; its previous average was 23 days. Cooperative partners said the clearer timing helped them plan transport and collection expenses. The roaster says the pledge encouraged it to treat payment speed as part of the quality of a cup, not merely an accounting detail.</p>
