Our story

Fadenwinkel Werkstatt is a Leipzig studio making belts, wallets, and small leather accessories in limited batches. It joined the No Surprise Fees pledge after customers ordering gifts online sometimes discovered a separate packing charge only at the final payment step. The studio wanted its price to feel complete and easy to compare from the start. It reviewed every product listing and added a clear breakdown of the item price, shipping choice, and any optional gift wrap before checkout. The owners also made local collection a visible no-shipping option rather than a note in the FAQ. Over 14 weeks, 112 of 118 orders were completed at the amount customers had seen before entering payment details, up from 91 of 117 in the previous period. The team says the improvement came mostly from better information, not discounts. Fadenwinkel still charges for delivery when needed, but it now states the charge early and explains what it covers.
